This books is written by a medical doctor specializing in sports medicine. He writes about a medicine that helps many illnesses and best of all it is free, this medicine is exercise. He describes the benefits of walking, aquatic therapy, Tai Chi and Yoga. He has a chapter on nutrition, and supplements. The information is high level but back up by case studies. The book ends with a list of references which give the book added credibility. However, I thought it would have been more useful if it had more specifics and included exercise programs for each area mentioned.Ali Julia review

this is a great book. if you or a family member suffer from chronic pain then this book is a great resource. it explores exercise, nutrition, mindfulness and more.
Not only is this a great book on pain management, but the man who wrote it is a great doctor. He's actually my accupuncturist, and helps me manage my pain. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, full body osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, constant nerve pain and damage from dislocations, as well as other conditions that cause pain. This is a part of my pain therapy assigned by my family Dr, and has been incredibly helpful!
"Tame your pain" by Dr. Michael Graveley's is an essential book to own because it is a road map for living one's life in relatively "pain free" synchronicity with the world. I've spent nearly 40 years learning what works to relieve the residual pain I had from two major back surgeries, one in 1976, the other in 1978. Dr. Graveley's suggestions in "Tame your pain" work, all of them and my life is living proof of their effectiveness. You don't need to spend 40 years searching for ways to reduce or eliminate your pain, read his book and follow his road map, you will improve and you won't be using drugs, alcohol, food, etc to numb out. When my "human experience as a spiritual being" on this earth ends, part of the legacy I wish to leave behind will be available to my children and my children's children in "Tame you pain". Thank you Dr. Graveley for the time and effort you spent writing this book so that others may benefit.
